Dr. Laura Hanson

Dr. Laura Hanson

Dr. Laura Hanson (she/her) is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She provides services to children and adolescents. Her current focus, after 20+ years of working with children with autism, is providing diagnostic assessments to the youngest children (toddlers and preschoolers, up to age 4) to allow timely access to early intervention. 

 

Dr. Hanson has provided psychological services, including assessments, therapy, and consultation services in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, community mental health clinics, and private practice settings. She has worked with a variety of client populations, including children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, serious mental health concerns, learning and developmental disabilities, as well as typically-developing children and adolescents learning to cope with a variety of circumstances and looking enhance their own abilities and maximize their strengths.

Dr. Hanson provides psychological assessments to young children, with a primary focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other developmental disorders. At Patchwork Psychology, toddlers and preschoolers (ages 15 months to 4 years) are the focus and priority, to help early intervention happen!

 

Dr. Hanson also provides supervision and consultation services, welcoming individuals who are in the process of registering with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and who are seeking private practice opportunities along with a clinical supervisor for their year of supervised practice. 

Dr. Cheryl Plouffe

Dr. Cheryl Plouffe (she/her) is a clinical and school psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She provides services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She completed her Ph.D. in School/Applied Child Psychology at McGill University and has worked in a variety of school and private practice settings over the past 10+ years.

 

Dr. Plouffe provides assessment, therapy, and consultation services in a variety of settings and has worked with a wide variety of client populations including children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, ADHD, and mental health concerns. 

 

One of her current areas of focus is providing diagnostic assessments to toddlers and preschoolers in order to identify specific areas of strength and areas to target for early intervention.

 

*Dr. Plouffe currently works at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board as well. Please note that Dr. Plouffe is unable to see school-age children/adolescents who attend specific schools. The OCDSB offers free of charge psychological services based on needs within the school.
